Virgin Voyages reveal new cabin design and itineraries

Virgin Voyages have released their new cabin designs, featuring a new way to sleep and entertain at sea – and with itineraries featuring overnight stays in Havana we’re ready to set sail.

The cabins

The unique cabin layout and design was crafted by PearsonLloyd in partnership with Virgin Voyages to maximise both space for entertaining, as well as sea views. Of all the 1,330 cabins and 78 suites onboard ‘The Scarlet Lady’ 93% offer sea views and 86% have their own sun terrace.

The SeaBed, designed and engineered by Walter Knoll, can be either a large comfortable bed for restful night’s sleep or transformed into a sofa and lounger, whilst also giving passengers more space to entertain friends.

Smart lighting in the cabins will change automatically to enhance the time of day based on where the ship is in the world, reflecting the blue seas and the gold to purple sunsets of the Caribbean waters. The cabin’s smarts don’t end there either, sensors know whether someone is in the cabin and if not the blinds will be closed and environmental controls adjusted to save energy.

Bathrooms too, have been designed to maximise space through smart storage and architecture. Featuring smart lighting, and rain effect showers to help passengers get ready in a way that’s both easy and relaxing.

The itineraries

Virgin Voyage’s first ship,’ The Scarlet Lady’, is set to set sail in 2020 offering sailings from Miami to the Caribbean. The ship will depart Miami at 7pm, later than most cruise lines, in order to make the most of the city’s colourful skyline at sunset.

Virgin Voyage’s ‘The Scarlet Lady’ launches 2020.

The Scarlet Lady will offer four and five-night Havana After Dark itineraries that will take Sailors on a cultural quest through Cuba, with an overnight stay in Havana that will afford Sailors ample time to explore and visit Cuba’s warm and friendly residents.

Virgin Voyages’ Mayan Sol itinerary will be a five-night voyage to Costa Maya, Mexico where antiquity contrasts modernism, with Mayan ruins just a stone’s throw away from the port and colourful coral reefs that lie just off-shore. Virgin Voyages has partnered with ITM Group to bring Sailors to this incredible paradise filled with rich history and excitement.

Sea lovers will revel in the Scarlet Lady’s Dominican Daze voyage, where she will journey to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on a five-night sailing. Voyages to Puerto Plata will be an ocean lover’s dream holiday. Puerto Plata is the perfect place for Sailors to catch some waves at surf school, explore trekking through canyons or catch a cable car up the mountain to buy handicrafts in an artisan village or enjoy endless island views.

The Scarlet Lady’s inaugural 2020 season will open for bookings this Valentine’s Day, February 14. More at www.virginvoyages.com
